Since Michael Dell is a very focused and aggressive businessman I would tend to believe IF IBM now has the Boeing contract then Dell looked at it as not profitable enough to keep it. I tend to believe he would prefer to keep his factories humming with profitable business as opposed to tying up resources just to keep a name brand customer.

At some point, every major business is faced with that decision when a competitor gets hungry enough. I would be more concerned if I was an IBM stockholder and heard we won a bid from Dell knowing Dell is kicking our butts in price on a daily basis. As an IBM stockholder I would be more than curious about the details of the deal.

In the event this is the scenario it does fit with what Michael and company have declared since day one...loyalty to the stockholders which means profits.

JMHO,

Again..that is a mighty big "IF" at this time.
