Paul,

I live in Charlotte, NC and we had a band of very severe thunderstorms come through most of last night. The TV, when the power and the cable were running, interrupted with many 'super-gee-whiz-3D-in the funnel-better Doppler than the other channels' reports of tornado sightings and warnings in the area.... Then they started reporting a loud boom, ground shaking and a brilliant flash of light just north of the city. Everything scrambled at that point because they didn't know what was going on.... tornado, train crash, plane crash, the Duke Energy nuclear power plant, aliens landing, ???. This morning they tell us that it was a 3.2 earthquake in Mooresville NC which is just north of Charlotte.

Just having intermittent torrential rain today. :-))
