One problem, a lot of the PUBLIC can't AFFORD Intel chips...
They might have if Intel had kept the PentiumMMX that could sell for $60 to the OEM but even then the MediaGX solution is cheaper with the on board audio and video.

A lot of the public can't afford to pay $2000 for an system that is going to be worth $500 in a year. Why not buy the $500 system now?

Save $1500.
