With the other two buyouts this week setting values of companies with little product and less sales at outrageous levels, how is Bay NOT worth at least 10 Billion. That represents a share price of $45... and equals about 4 times sales. You guys all seem to know your way around this stuff - help a naive investor out - Why doesn't the market value this stock more highly, especially given the great strides it's made with product and clients in the past few months ?

So what's the smart strategy going into Monday....Enter a sell stop on long shares at say 29 7/8 and buy back in the mid 20's if the deal isn't made over the weekend? If the deal is made, the stock won't be going lower obviously and all would be well!

I'm thinking the same thing. If buyout doesn't strengthen early next week, then we'll most likely see quite a bit of weekness in BAY trading. This last push -- by whoever is advancing/capitalizing on these BAY takeout rumors -- was focused for this weekend. The whole deal of BAY's board meeting to consider the $40 buyout offer by Nortel this weekend. If Monday comes with zero news, then that rumor appears untrue or misleading at best. Course it could all be true, and BAY just wants more than $40.

My take is that if BAY is on the blocks that in addition to a fair price, they want to choose the right partner, not just the highest bidder. Oh well, we'll see, but my guess is we'll see no takeout this weekend/week with BAY.
