Hey, does this "preannoucnment" have any negative implications for MMC Networks (mmcn)?

Don't forget the classy move of pre-announcing on a friday afternoon in the summer. Yuck!

Wizard, I've got a problem with many of the suppliers to the lAN infrastructure space. I know PMCS is doing some work in gigabit ethernet space, it's incremental, but I'm sensing a brutal and decaying competitive environment.

Given your "triple whammy" should this thing be purchased at any price?

Order push outs and cancellations, product cycle transitions and pricing issues have a lot to do with the current state of the market.

The only thing that is of real concern is: Is GALTF losing market share? If the answer is no, then GALTF is a real best buy at these prices. Everyone is entitled to have one bad quarter.

Just to make this point, does anyone remember what happened with EFII in Dec. 97? (large inventories at customers, order push outs, saturated market, etc.) - The stock fell from around $40 to around $13. I got in at around $14 and sold 3 months later at $24. The point is: there was no apparent loss of market share.

Any info regarding the current status of GALTF in the market will be appreciated. My wallet is open on Monday.
