Charliss, thanks for sharing the story of the transsexual, Donna Cartwright. It reminded me of a similar story I watched on television last week. I am sorry that I do not remember the name of the woman, but as a man she was a race car driver, and I think her male name might have been A.J. Hoyt. As is typical, she felt miserable as a male, and while she is excited to be female, she says that the woman she is now was always inside her before.

One of the really encouraging things about this story is that the tv magazine show interviewed a fellow race car driver, a man, who noted that all he can see of the other drivers' faces is their helmets, and that if she is a good driver, that is all that matters. She is going to try to revive her career. I think transsexuality may be fairly difficult for many people to understand until they have actually known a person before and after. He seemed sympathetic to her plight. I hope other drivers feel the same way; it is kind of a macho sport.

This reminds me that I believe the feature was on American Journal, with Charles Perez and his sister, Michelle. Their show is not going to be back next season, but what I wanted to say is that Charles Perez is just adorable, and seems like a really good person inside, too. He is my favorite daytime tv personality.
