Here is some more stuff:

The large range of the 25-45 million write-off was because they haven't run the numbers yet and didn't want any further surprises at the time of the earnings report. About 1/2 of the amount is for depreciation of old facilities.

CL is expected to come out with more product lines before long but no specifics could be given. CL has not been expected to contribute to earnings until the latter half of next year.

The new MIPS parts were confirmed to have been developed in-house rather than at QED. These are expected to be highly succesfull and more profitable than the QED designed parts since they don't have to pay royalties. This should help in the competition for new network, set-top box and internet device markets.

My overall impression is that things are headed in the right direction but are still at a critical juncture at which the results are not in yet. The extent of the ramp in wafer starts and how well good parts yield will be critical to understanding how quickly IDTI is likely to turn around. I should be able to get some input on these items within a few weeks.

At the current pricing level, there is building reason to believe that there is a greater chance for upside surprises rather than more bad news. I don't think the price will trend down much more because the panic should subside and some bargain hunting may step in. No glory ride is likely for a while either. Time to "average in".
