Agree with your comments. however, I am thinking that some of these companies mght have artificially low license growth rates, since the revenue gets put into the services bucket. As I recall, there was concern last quarter about how VNTV licenses went from 67% to 63% (or something like that) of revenue. That's really a small shift, and would be easy for individual salespeople to do that on a deal by deal without anyone even realizing it was happening. On a $300K deal, 4% is only $12K - you could shift $25 - 50K and no one would notice.

Don't mean to sound defensive - it's getting to the point that any attepts at explanation or other perspectives on SI get called defensive. Actually, that sounds defensive, too.

I'm back - no way did I bring a laptop. I could only call in for stock quotes when my wife thought I was going to the men's room (maybe that's why the phones are always near the rest rooms). I did sneak a few extra calls.

Anyway, big honeymoon is in July - to down under for a month.

Dave, would love to hear your view on how you distinguish between CIS and SFA - what are the key components for success in each of these segments?
