Hubert, I am not sure whether you threw your velvet cape across the muddy and foul gutter for me in your post, or whether I should just grab onto one of your wings and beat it out of here. The wing grab might be better, since I would not want my four-inch heels with the sexy ankle straps poking little holes in the soft cloth of your caring and concern. I think I might be more inclined to fly away with you very soon, after I have finished doing my good works here at Ask God. The Feelings thread is fun, but sometimes I require more substance, and I do like to debate philosophical issues. Unfortunately, however, this thread got my attention because there were a lot of people saying very mean things about homosexuals, Jews, pagans and non-Christians who are really very cool. It is not nice to be so prejudiced!! And I got the distinct idea they all thought Jesus was a blue-eyed white guy. Religious beliefs are disturbing when they foment violence or encourage hatred and narrowmindedness, so I somehow got lured over on a mission of sorts. And it seemed like a lot of true believers had a very strange idea that Satan really existed, and that I was one of his most eager foot soldiers. I do not think that is a very healthy way of looking at life, and my dream is that everyone will be healthy and happy (while they are waiting for Maitreya, or Godot, or a double latte, depending upon their personal preference). Whatever gets you through the night is all right, all right!!! With fondest affection, Your strange and daring Gracie!!!

Hubert, you are one interesting person. From one post I would most like to meet you over any of the "non-Christians" on this thread. So, are you really a practicing Buddhist? I once spent 2 years practicing Yoga (both the physical and spiritual). I one day just completely gave up on it, and started reading "Dyanetics", which didn't make any sense. So I went back to the Euclidean philosophy so prevalent in our society. By the time I was 26, I was one messed up young man. It was at this time that I decided to change the direction of my life, so I packed everything I owned in a backpack and headed for the great unknown. Needless to say, it didn't take me long to run out of money. Now I was one of these people that believed that they could take care of themselves and didn't need any help from anyone or anything, but when you are confronted with the prospect of your mortality, things can change pretty fast! Its getting late so I will continue at a later time. Respectfully yours, Tom
