What I see is: FORE has a 40GB switch, ASND has a 25GB switch FORE is the first company to have OC48c. FORE's ASX-1000 just won N+I "ATM Backbone Switch of the Year" award. FORE has a long line of "first to" credits in the ATM world. Do you really think a company that is spending BILLIONS to create a next generation network from scratch is going to pick a technologically inferior backbone switch just to save a few dollars? That doesn't make sense.
