FWIW. Compaq was just mentioned as favorite picks by two elves on
Wall Street Week. Barbara Marcin and Robert Stovall. Both quite respectable. Interestingly, CPQ was mentioned with IBM, not Dell or
Gateway.

That's a nice piece of misinformation provided by Mr Voorhees. SI has never partnered with Microsoft (beyond buying its products) or received any advertising money from Microsoft.
