Answer to post 563..."Who said,---" To all those interested in AENG, Last night I tried on two occasions to submit a post to the board. As those of you read my post number 563, you were aware that I promised to give an answer by last night. Despite my best efforts and intentions, I was unsuccessful in getting a response on the board. At the bottom of this post, I will explain what seems to be either a technical problem or my own mistakes in posting. I would welcome any help that may be available. In the meantime, my apology for not folow through in the time I promised. In my previous post I had asked Auric two questions: 1) Would he state for the record which company, firm or organization he represents. To date no answer to that specific question. 2) The second question: Who said and in what movie, "If you cannot say anything nice, don't say anything at all."? The movie was Bambi and the character was Thumper. The scene was, when Bambi was first born, Thumper said, "Gee, ma he sure walks funny." Thumper's mother said, "Thumper, what have I told you?" Thus the quote. By the way this makes a great trivia question. Guaranteed to fool most of your friends. Now before Auric, or anyone else starts amking comments about fairy tales, the producer of the movie was a gentlemen, by the name of Walt Disney. I remember reading that early in his career, he was either fired or could not get a particular job, being told that he had no talent as an illustrator. I cannot help wondering with thes facts how Auric would write Mr. Disney' biography. I learned many years ago that there are three sides to every story. One side, the other side, and somewhere in the middle. We all have our own prejudices and life's experiences on which we base our judgements. The other point of my question is the fact that when you ask, "Who said---?" most people automatically start to think about a person instead of expanding their horizons. Perhaps the same type of thinking might apply to the engine. For those of you technicaly knowledgeable, who doubt the engines capability look at it from the other side, and expand your own horizons. Seems like in the last few days some of the solution are appearing on the board. It also seems kind of nice that some of the flaming rhetoric on the board has disappeared over the weekend. Sincerely, Mike 1 P.S. My posting problem seems to occur after I write my post and click submit response. About half the time I get kicked off before the response is posted. I have tried it with preview and without. I had the computer checked last week and it seemed to be okay, other than my clock which is losing time. I am on AOL and ready to switch if necessary. Thanks for any help with this very frustrating problem.
