I do believe a deal will come in time. I still believe pramlintide will ultimately be approved
phase three tests were promising but structured wrong. Once new results come out amlyn and investors
will be vindicated. Unfortunately bio-tech as a friend of mine often says has become Missiourian
investing once we see it we will be rewarded. Cnto in 95/96, immunex, corr, medi are some over the past
two years. Keep the faith, patcience is a virtue.

Tom: It doesn't seem too likely to me MM will be right unless we see a big jump in price tomorrow. From the jump in price in April it seems reasonable that a deal is in the works. But in this case, there doesn't seem to be great incentive on the part of the new company to complete a deal quickly unless a competitive party is involved. If that were so, we would not have seen the large recent drop in price.
There is incentive to complete a deal before the Europe results are in since the price would presumably be higher with favorable results. What the incentive would be to complete the deal within 2 weeks isn't clear. From a negotiating standpoint, it's better to let AMLN drain down some more money. And I might note deals aren't done until they're done (to paraphrase Yogi Berra). So how any non-psychic could know a deal would be signed within 2 weeks isn't clear.

If the stock jumps big time tomorrow, though, forget the above.

Have a good week,
Arnie,

This is vintage Murphy. To anyone who relies on Murphy's time
frames for making investment decisions, I would invoke the
phrase, "Remember Trikon (TRKN)". Murphy was just so sure
that TRKN was going to bought out by the end of '97.
He stated these facts in October I believe. I'll leave it to
the inquisitive on this board to see how that timed prediction
worked.

I hope for the sake of all AMLN holders (of which I am one)
he is right, but I'm cynical at heart, (especially after TRKN) thus my response.

Good luck in all your investments,
JF
