With all those times getting burned, I'll bet there
have been more than a few that go the other way, right?
It's not uncommon to see a $1+ gap up. And what
about mergers? Last week, I had the good fortune of
owning Ciena. After announcing being bought by Tellabs, the
next morning, it opened up around $64 from $57 (more or
less). So, have your opening up gaps offset your
opening down gaps?

Talking about opening gaps - sometimes I see that
COMS does not vary that much during the day, but gaps
alot up or down before opening. During a week or two of
this, it would seem hard to trade. One can only profit, by
predicting the up or down gap. It makes me wonder
if there is some behind the scenes manipulation...
