Will NAMX debut on the NYSE?

New listing requirements for the NYSE have been approved by their board. At present a company like NAMX can list with only $6.5 million earned over the previous three year period. As much as $4.5 million can come from the most recent year, with positive earnings in the prior two years. Net tangible assets of $40 million are required. Under these standards, NAMX -- with luck -- could list early in 2001, assuming earnings this year and a total of 6.5 million in earnings from 1/1/98 through the end of the year 2000.

The new standards will require at least $15 million in earnings over the previous three years, with no loss in the previous two years. NAMX could list on the NYSE early in 2000 assuming no earnings last year, and a total of $15 million in earnings this year and next. Listing candidates will be required to have a market capitalization (excluding stock owned by employees, officers and concentrated shareholders) of $60 million for an IPO, and a stockholders' equity of $100 million instead of the old requirement of $40 million in net tangible assets.
