Chuz,

Good points. Packard Bell has never turned much of a profit, but has managed build market share - until recently, and has made life miserable for everyone else in the consumer market especially CPQ. PB looks to be on the ropes, recently closing two assembly plants. I haven't seen anyone predict PB's days are numbered, yet the ship has a pronounced list. CPQ could very well have entered the sub-zero market in order to apply the coup de grace.

The biggest problem with buying a computer these days is that the models / prices are shifting to rapidly. I only buy ThinkPads for my work and the price drops have been dramatic over the last year (my original ThinkPad 770 cost me a little over $9k... my latest 770 ED cost be $6k and it has more features)!

Happy shopping,

Shane
