very true.

on the buyout side, maybe a 25% chance. but it would have to be significantly above current, around 30-35 per share.

on second though, try a 10-15% chance.

The reason I speculated that 3Com might go after WSTL is based on Rockwell announcement. Rockwell claimes that their K56/V.90 modems with the help of PAIR's Falcon chip will allow to work both in 56 kbp and ADSL modes. Rockwell's former archrival US Robotics is now a part of 3Com.
