** An NIR shorter is going down... **

We have suffered through a number of offensive and vulgar posts from a very recent arrival - Peter Joseph (signed on 3 June). I've made a complaint to SI about the content and language he has used - and I hope that he has already been canned. Others here should also complain to SI (refer to the terms of being a member) if you feel so inclined.

Coincidentally `lentils' on the Canadian Stockhouse NIR thread has made a flurry of recent posts - and to a lesser extent - others have posted supporting him - again short related. I don't know if it's all the same guy using multiple aliases - or a group of people working together. My suspicion is that it's Au Contrarie (re: lentils et al.) who has posted here. Read his web site in full - lots of hate and ugliness in there: intergate.bc.ca

I'm not going to be too long winded here, but two main points:

(1) Someone has a short position of 400,000 NIR - according to the information on NIR at the Canadian Stockwatch site (info. from Gino to me). Big, big investment mistake here. Read through past messages from me for access to this site.

(2) These people are not interested in verifiable information. We have posted all of the contact information that we've used - me especially - so that you can do the research for yourself. All they want is for you to respond - that's it! The best thing is not to respond - there's nothing substantive to respond to - it's either old news that has been already addressed - information that can't be verified - or bitter personal attacks.

If this all stems from Au Contraire - then I feel sorry for you. Your SI profile describes you as a senior from Vancouver, BC (I'll take that at face value as being true - don't know really why - but I will). Lentils says he's 26 - I don't believe it - the style of the posts in not what I would expect from a 26 year old. I'm not going to go into a huge research post here - but there just seems to be too many linkages to the same person, or close-knit group of people. Lesson: Unscrupulous investors can use several aliases (e.g.. easily done if you have a number of e-mail addresses) - and PLEASE just regard these forums as one other source of information. No-one can control what is posted here - but vulgar and deliberately false information that's posted by people can result in them being removed - and here on SI - it means blowing $US125 - soon to be $US200 - I wish that it was $US500. Myself, and others have posted all of our contact information to support all of the information that we have provided - spread the good news - and I hope that folks have taken advantage of this.

Someone has just made the wrong investment call - shorting 400,000 NIR - and with the BIG news next week - this is the reason why there has been such a flurry of bitter posts. These forums do not make the market for any stock - they just reflect where they've been, are now, and where they're going. Don't over-estimate the influence of the public forums (SI, Yahoo, Stockhouse + others).

A final note to our NIR shorter...

A heart filled with bitterness is as sorry position to be in - especially for an older guy. Personally I wish that I could reach out and remove that dark cloud from you - putting everything else aside - even NIR - it doesn't matter THAT much - not for the really important things in our lives. Stand up, shake off the hurt - step through that door and into the sunshine that was once there in your life. Begin to enjoy life once again - it's too precious to waste. Try to take the `high road' and be a good, honest and moral person.

I was on a field trip yesterday (I'm in natural resource research/consulting, e.g., includes forestry) and at 7:30 AM yesterday morning I was standing beside a small lake surrounded by forest in northern Ontario. The sun had just come up and there was a light mist above the lake. Then three loons landed on the lake and started to make their magical and beautiful calls - what a wonderful start to the day.

...Take that step into the sunshine again - it's never too late. As they say `The best time to plant an oak tree was twenty years ago - the second best time is now'.
