And loonie it is to reduce your gold reserves from more than an ounce per capita in the late 70s to about one tenth of an ounce today. Canadians should be up in arms about it. How fantastically stupid that the would-be world capital of mining finance should shoot itself in the foot with such an influential hit on the POG. I wonder how many hundreds of dollars are lost in tax revenue and reduced value of the loonie for every dollar 'made' in interest on the proceeds of the liquidation. The loonie is well named.

But then look at the people who run some of the other institutions in this country.
Take the Toronto Stock Exchange, for example. It seems that its management lacks the intestinal fortitude to reply to an SI posters charges of incompetence, so they sent him a legal threat by courier #reply-4693975

Yes, it can happen here.
