What advantage do you see in Ascend's GX550 over Fore ASX4000?
Although Fore's still in beta, carriers may need OC48 only after the end of this year, by that time Fore's ASX4000 may have passed the beta. Fore can help Level 3 to build OC48 later in the year. One advantage of Fore is price. Probably, these are some of the reasons that Level 3 chose Fore.
