>>similar in tone to commentary expressed in the days IBM was at their nadir.<< I'll second that. IBM had drifted down from a high of $88 in '87 to a low of $21 in '93 (adjusted for 2:1 split). I started buying in late '92 and early '93 at $40, doubling up at$35 and $30 and again at $24, all the while feeling the company was grossly undervalued and would find its way back to good graces. By then I had 12x as much of that 'dog' (half my portfolio) as I had wanted. I almost bought more 09/93 at $21 except as I was placing the order I heard a high profile analyst explaining in excruciating detail why the company was still overvalued and would soon be $14.

I was ecstatic to get out a long year later at $33 (8/94). Friday it was $119. Note that it takes four consecutive years of +38%/yr to go from 33 to 119.

Lesson learned: I should have bought at $33, 40, 50, and 60 after the stock rose 50% from its low. Buy good but troubled companies after the bottom is clearly in the rear-view mirror. I like MOT and believe it will someday be worth much more than $51; however, once burned, I will lurk wait for the sun to come out.

Sell the losers and let the winners ride. Good luck to all.
>>My D.D. continues.<< Mine too, John.

>>>After all, logic dictates that the best time to enter an issue is when the cat-a-wailing is at its height and share holder value amounts to blood in the streets. Heh!! <<<

More blood to come IMHO. MOT breaking down out of descending triangle bottoms with next weekly support at 45, may hold may not.

ERICY in a nice channel uptrend.

Would wait for more blood before going long IMHO.

Speaking of "'fulcrum' moments in history," and other talk of classic contrarian plays, do you, or does anyone else on the thread have any info on insider trading in MOT? I've found absolutely none in a quick search of EDGAR going back several years. Am I missing something?

I've never owned MOT but would love to get some at or near its "nadir."

Much obliged if anyone has the insider trading news...
