Bill, from the real world, a telecom company anticipated to sell this summer about 10% of their production to Russia, or close to $50 million. To date NO FIRM ORDERS for lack of proper financial guaranties.

BTW - Heard of Rostelecom on the NYSE??

Second "HOT" order of about $30 million to SE Asia, not Indonesia or Malesyia went up in smoke for same reason no proper bank guaranties. Not to mention that they opened a Korea factory to save the market there.

Now we are speaking about a relative small manufacturer (under $1 billion in revenue) not Lucent or Siemens or Alcatel or Erricson etc.

Bidding for 35% of the Romanian telecom managed by Goldman went down to only two interested parties from around 10, also tells billions. Project size around $800 million. Cost per line around $650 to $750 with out the physical wire.

No surprise MOT, TXN and others are hurting.

This slow down will come back and bite after unemployment will grow with a 6 to 9 months lag, will start hurting the economy. AG should rater lower rates in the near future.

In NYC empty stores are starting to pop up more than before, even that the economy is still vibrant. Would like to see NYC economy after a 20% correction. <ggg>
