It's been said several times before. Rene Velasquez, the President of Golden Eagle Bolivia which owns the concession on the property, which is a subsidiary of MINE, owns 13% of the Bolivian subsidiary. His reported friendship with the current President of Bolivia goes back to their school days. It is common in Latin American countries for the President to have a piece of the action through friends and/or family. I don't know if this is the case but it wouldn't surprise me in the least. In addition, in the last press release it noted that the Vice-Minister for Natural Resources was a shareholder as well.
