May I jump in and answer that one please, as I asked the same question only a few short weeks ago. <eom> end of message, so that if you are just looking at the whatchamacallit, you know the first lines of a bunch of posts, if you see a short message followed by <eom> you know that is the whole enchilada, no need to click for more.
