Well you have to remember also that the majority of Intel's parts now ship with expensive high-speed L2 cache. (Pentium MMX and Celeron are probably lower in volume now than PII-xxxMhz). So not only is die size up, put so is packaging and support materials.

And now a price cut. I hope Intel gets a 30% price cut from their L2 suppliers.. but I don't think that will happen ;-0
