**** OT Jack's Movie Reviews OT *******

We went to the movies today, since I am still waiting for a check from DLJ so I can send it to Datek. Nothing else to do but bide my time.... so here goes:

1 PM Deep Impact Main plot about a comet striking the earth. Several secondary plots of - love of family, abandonment, etc... Some real tear jerker scenes and lots of neat high tech scenes... No showing of ASND gear. Several unrealistic scenes if you are a physicist or reasonable person. But, guess what... 1st there's Tornados (even wizard of oz), then there's aliens - next there are earthquakes and volcanos. Now Hollywood lets you see what they think it would look like if a comet hit the Atlantic Coast just outside NH. DUH! Don't feel like I just spilled the plot or anything... re-read the title. Just remember to get that 250CC motorcycle you always wanted when you were 14, so you can outrun the comet! The movie might make you think what you would do if you had only a little time left (like short ASND, cash out your margin, and buy a boat) Jack's rating ***1/2

5 PM Hope Floats Great Chick Flick, lots of teary eyed scenes with Sandra Bullock (ahhh) and Harry Connick, Jr. (I like Harry... he's the next Frank Sinatra - even if he does describe himself as white trash) A former cheerleader and hood ornament wife, moves back to mama's when husband admits to an affair. She goes back home to nowheresville, where she was Corn Queen for 4 years running. She meets Harry, a former friend in high school, and she really doesn't want to have anything to do with him. Sandra really gives the character too much credit and depth to have been as naive as she started out to be. But a great move to see with your significant other... Jack's rating ****

10 PM The Perfect Murder Michael Douglas and Gweneth Palthrow (Brad Pitt's old flame). Don't see this with your significant other, if you are having problems in your relationship!!! Especially if you have an large insurance policy or some other bounty on your head. Good, suspenseful movie where the husband finds out his wife is having an affair. I like everything Michael Douglas does, especially Wall Street... Jack's rating ****

1:32am Time for bed.... Goodnight

jack

PS: I use a 5 star scale

All very possible, but the overwhelming speculation that goes on in this thread seems to often mimic pipe dreams more than it does real life.

Said comment is not meant to take away from the fact that you are more knowledgeable than some of the goobers that send me mail in here...I would say that whereas trading is about raw greed, M&A is about ego more than greed, and that is an intangible we can place no price upon...and for the seller, the idea of a merger usually translates to a) retirement, b) failure. Do you think ASND is willing to admit failure yet? These guys are too young to retire...
