James, the point I was trying to make is that societies evolve along with economies. As a society becomes mobile and industrializes family structure tends to move from extended to nuclear. We may not like it. I much preferred the warmth of the extended family in which I was born and bred to the nuclear family which leads to a feeling of isolation. Perhaps with the advent of the virtual office we will see a modest move back to extended families by some professionals.
