Regarding the IBM story: George, if you are still going to e-mail the author, I have a couple of questions.
1. Does IBM need a full speed switch or will their new products rely on a quarter speed switch? My reason for asking is that if they require a full speed switch they are probably not planning in OEMing McData's switch. They may have seen a prototype of their full speed switch, but not a production model (correct?)
2. I would also like to know if the IBM spokesman said that their equipment would come with their own switch but would be compatible with anyone else's; or if he said their equipment would come with their own switch but would also be compatible with Brocade's. If the spokesman specifically mentioned Brocade, it seems to me that Brocade is not in the running. Ancor and McData would then be the logical candidates. However, it seems quite possible to me that the IBM guy said that their equipment would be compatible with everyone's FC switches and the author of the article simply put in the name of a switch maker with which he was familiar.

I have to sign off now, I need to brew a new cup of tea so that I can read the leaves some more.
