"I have a gut feeling that we may be supplying more than just displays to MOT, but no knowledge of same."

You touch on a salient point. Much of the conversation on the thread assumes the TFS sells just displays. If that means just LCD glass assemblies, its wrong. At the Society for Information booth, for example, you could have seen examples of what TFS prefers to sell. TFS showed a variety of subassemblies (e.g., the display and button interface for an HP printer, external plastic and all).

Those subasssemblies happen (mostly) to contain [surprise!!] display components (either LCD or LED). But it doesn't take a lobotomy reversal to see that the money derived from the display element (LCD glass or LEDs) itself is a minor contribution to the overall revenue stream. I'd be surprised if they sell much if any raw display element product. The value-added assemblies are much more attractive. And with TFS' off-shore assembly capabilities, they can fab the whole subassembly assembly for less than the customer can. Image what China might do for TFS in that regard ultimately!

BTW, I've been curious about the CrossPad. I just wish it was better at converting to ascii text. Guess I'll have to go look at 'em anyhow. JimA
