bill - here's an example of how the triangle game
is played:

shahar.nets.com:2000/axp.pub.jpg

I think I've done it right, but if I'm sure
someone will get vocal about it if not.

the blue line is the upper trend line. the
triangle is in yellow. what I've done here
is show the trading I expect to take place in
a bullish outcome. that's in red.

If I see AXP touch it's upper trend line at
just shy of 106, then hold the cradle at
around 104, I will conclude that we are starting
another bull leg. the mirror image can be
drawn to the downside, in which case 104 will
be resistance.

you'll note that this consolidation has produced
a rounded bottom on AXP, which flies in
the face of all the rounded tops we're seeing.
this would seem to make a dramatic statement
about interest rates. we'll see.

BTW - if you look back at DELLs long consolidation
at the end of last year, you can see a perfect
conclusion to a perfect triangle right along
these lines, including a final spike right into
the cradle before taking off.
