Gary - AFter I posted the question re: the plant I remembered someone said construction wasn't due to start until a little later. Actually, I was kinda looking for an excuse to drive to Victoria because I'm intrigued by the local connections - this is all happening in my back yard sotospeak. I actually grew up in Victoria in the 60's, which is about 120 miles southwest of Houston. It's an old and very wealthy community of maybe 75,000 or so. The wealth comes from cattle ranches (BIG ones) that have been developed there over the past 150-200 years, and lots of oil that was found under the cattle. It's a rural area 120 miles from any major cities (with San Antonio-Austin to the north and Houston to the northeast if anybody wants to look at a map), and only maybe 30 miles from the Gulf Coast as the crow flies. There's lots of chemical plants - Union Carbide, Alcoa, Dupont, etc., stretched out in nearby counties. Because of the economics of the area it's not at all unfamiliar to find all manner of oil related businesses in Victoria. Now, the principals in our little company are A&M grads, i.e. Aggies to us Texans, with whom my UT Longhorns have had a Thanksgiving shootout since time began (I think UT's on top.) When I found out it was Aggies running this show I started to walk away, but then I reminded myself that there's a few things they're good at (big grin - not too much offense intended to any Aggie investors here), oil being one of them. And the plant's to be set up here in Houston, I'd guess near the ship channel due to the lease with the shipping co., but then again we've got probably hundreds of square miles of chemical/petroleum plants here so it could be a lot of places. I know there's some others on the thread from this area...maybe when the time comes we could have breakfast and go look at the plant. If I get the time when the plant construction starts I'll go to Victoria if I can see the project underway. DB PS. If Dan et.al. pull this off I'll root for A&M next Turkey Day. Maybe even wear maroon.
