Robert, Thank you for adding that. When I was in college I worked for Consolidation Coal Company (CONSOL). We used USGS estimates often, but when it came time for the real number crunching and economic analysis, we got the core drillers out and someone had to spend waaaaaaay too much time out in the middle of nowhere logging these samples. From there, we would determine the economic feasibility of the coal bed. As I recall, the USGS estimates were usually understated. Mark G.
