Roger, You're absolutely right. I live and work in Japan and Australia and spent time in Hongkong a while back and discovering when visiting the US that I could open an account , transfer my money over so easily to research and trade the US stock market on line for peanuts in commission was just the best thing since sliced cheese. They just don t have the tech stocks over there or the opportunity for same returns that the American market has. (Hong Kong could have been the exception in the past but is shakey these days)
I know that people in Japan , Australia, Hong Kong etc. will love to do the same thing once they are made aware of how. I presume they might not have to take the step of wiring funds to US to trade the US market since e-trades opening up there. Does anyone know how thats going to work? SE Asia and Pacific Rim will be a huge growing market for what E-trade offers .
