Is mixing RAM a consideration? For example starting with unknown brand x and then adding unknown brand y?

My point is and I don't know whether or not it is valid is to work with a known RAM. I am not necessarily recommending Corsair, it just seems to be widely available so it would be possible to get more RAM of the same type.
