I can't imagine SAP actually buying VNTV.

I think both SAP and Orcl are changing their religion on this. Im talking about the apps only. Psft has been too successful with their acquisitions strategy. Whoever does planning and acquisitions at psft - you are good!

The reason nobody acquired the SCMs was the valuation.

There still is a lot of talk about orcl buying vntv so it seems like more than a fleeting rumor. It may come down to front office vs. backoffice as a priority for the ERPs. Psft (and I think Sap) seem more interested in backoffice now. Orcl really doesnt have any strengths vs psft or sap from a funtionality standpoint so it may make sense to buy vntv - then they'd be #1 in something vs. the other ERPs (theres still that annoying sebl to deal with however). If orcl bought I2 and vntv then the world would be a different place for sure. At least they have I2 as a strategic partner.
