Concerning the manufacture of chips (as of September 1997), see Steven Sprague at post #588.

Concerning the retrofitting of the installed base, see Wave's IR at post #1145.

Bob Hainsworth: I believe the November Fall Comdex in Las Vegas is where many new PC products will be demonstrated. OEMs would likely make new product announcements prior to Comdex, but I don't know how much earlier. People from the PC industry could probably shed more light based on past experience. My guess is that we could see some OEM announcements throughout the Summer and Fall.

I still believe National Semiconductor, like SMSC, is more likely to make the next announcement since they could be one of the actual suppliers of the chip. These I/O chip makers would be like 'phase one' of finally bringing the WaveMeter to market. Announcements by SMSC, and hopefully NSM, would not be made unless their boxmaker customers wanted the Wave enabled component, so there must be some serious side-agreements or written understandings in place, at least as far as SMSC is concerned.
