I couldn't have said it any better.

Walsh knew from the beginning that the news would eventually hit the fan. If he sold too many shares it would be too obvious.

Ask yourself one question - How could the president of the company responsible for the largest gold find in history never take the time to visit the site and see the gold for himself? He claims that he left this to Felderhof, but it is inconceivable that he never once looked into the gold samples himself.

He evidently didn't really feel all that bad about the people that lost money. He put up a huge fight to keep the money that he made rather than let it go to those who lost money.
