To all...need some time to evaluate options,
thanks for your contributions.

Win 98 vs Win NT -- Is there something really wrong with Win '98?
One thing I don't like about multimonitors in NT is that when you
maximize a screen, it maximizes to cover all the monitors instead of just on one monitor. The software just wasn't written specifically for multimonitors. Hopefully Win NT 5 will solve this.

PII 300 vs PII 233 --the "sweet spot" is tantalizing, but am learning
that the 233 might be more than enough for my purposes. I don't know
if AMD compatible mobos yet have 5 pci slots. So far I'm still leaning towards Intel, but will keep AMD as an option.

P2B-L vs P??97 - I need to get more info from InternetJet as to
their ethernet card/connection.

Matrox offers the DigiSuite Card for NT - Runs two monitors via 1 PCI card mentioned earlier: matrox.com
I will contact them tomorrow and see if one can run two of these cards together for a total of 4 monitors. Price will also be a consideration. I don't really know what "2 simultaneous video displays per screen" really means. Is this card just for video?
Is it overkill for my puposes or is it up my alley?

Dave, once again, the programs I will be running simultaneously
include two web browsers, several Kill Keys, several real time charts,
a JAVA based execution software, and several different mIRC chat
channels. Would this be too much for '98 to handle?
