Cat, Excellent post! You nailed the hidden assumptions in the ASP canard. If the ASP thesis were correct, DELL would have been unable to grow the company the way it has for the past three years. The ASP is an average number. It would be better to look at the ASPs of the different DELL business units and their respective profits and growth rates. Perhaps DELL should sell 1 really big computer with hefty profit margins. That would resolve the ASP issue. << gg>>
