Dude
i dont want to lug a 17 inch monitor and my hard drive to another house...I hated taking it to another room

I dont know jack about electricity
but that is what Dell and Viewsonic told me
and I guess it is because your monitor and computer may react differently to voltage than your TV...meaning it takes less of a "glitch" in the power to effect your monitor visibly than it does your TV
