I have to do some more research on cable modems,
but from I've read and heard, it seems tha there
are different type of cable modems, and thats
what's confusing. I thought there was only
on basic type...especialy since there's a cable
standard (DOCSIS)... but it at least seems
that different modems give customers different
functionality.

By the way, I'm under the Bell Atlantic region
and just saw yesterday a pricing on giving customers
ADSL (which won't be out till later this year). The
prices are expensive, and only the sophisticaed serious
users are going to pay for this.

I will try to dig up specifics and post in the future.
