Well one other thing you have to remember is that over the counter NT Server supports a maximum of 4 CPUs. To support more than that the IHV needs to write their own HAL. NT Workstaion supports a max of 2 cpus over the counter.

Yes.. As I said servers will benefit from MP, simply because many server tasks are designed to handle multiple users and operations at once and are multi-threaded and well suited to multi-threading by default.

My main point here is (to over simplify) don't say the Alpha is of _no_ concern. Minimal concern, sure, but don't count it out now that CPQ has it. That could change a lot.
