Why did the United States spend 80 years fighting Communism when the end result is to have our own government behave the same as the USSR and Josef Stalin.

I am not sure if a monopoly is any different from USSR. In USSR, anything you wanted had to be obtained from government. Under total Intel monopoly, any semiconductor product you want would have to be obtained from Intel at prices arbitrarily set by Intel management.

Silicon want's to be cheap. Very cheap. The only thing that's standing in the way is inertia caused by need for compatibility with old software and artificial barriers erected by Intel.
