My impression is that the number of MediaGX systems is exploding. MediaGX is the first assault against traditional bus architectures on the desktop. MXi and C6+NB will be the next players in this arena.

Why would I want an expensive 100MHz external bus, when I can have a low cost 300MHz internal bus? This is not rocket science Paul. Slot 1/2 are destined for the trash heap over the next three years.

I remember hearing that same argument about VLB in 1993. Someone told me that PCI was DOA because of the market domination of Vesa.

One year later VLB was history. I'll give slot 1 three years.
