MEMC Electronics Materials (WFR) 12 3/4 -3/16: producer of silicon wafers used in the manufacture of semiconductors is warning that it expects its loss in Q2 to be significantly larger than in Q1; sees Q2 sales between $195 mln to $200 mln; plans to take a charge of $15 mln in Q2 for job reductions; WFR was projected to lose $0.64 a share in Q2 vs an actual loss of $0.72 in Q1.....

Rebound in semi-equips anytime soon? Perhaps not. If wafers aren't being sold, chips won't get made. If chips aren't being made, new equipment won't be ordered...

On the other hand, since the capacity glut needs to get run down, this is perhaps the first sign...
