and just to finish the circle, Intel owns 10% of Standard Microsystems and SMSC and IBM are both with Wave.

24601, not to change subjects but, IBM picked INTEL because they were a major shareholder and got a great deal on the 8086. There were no good technical reasons for picking INTEL. Points 2 and 3 yes.
