Customers can schedule an appointment with the Tandy Retail Service Center nearest them for on-location servicing. If the projector requires more than a modest repair, adjustment or alignment, it will be sent to Tandy's National Repair Center in Fort Worth, Texas. Through Tandy Service Centers, Projectavision is offering an optional setup service to customers. For a fee, a Tandy representative will unpack the product at the customer's location, assemble the Digital Theater Series II product, test the unit, and train the customer on how to use the product. "Offering a Tandy representative's assistance in the unit's set up is an extra value-added service to our customers," said Martin Holleran. "Although the unit is easy to set up, we wanted to provide the option to customers who prefer an experienced person to unpack, test and give hands-on instructions." Computer Applications Are Vivid And Clear Projectavision said Digital Theater Series II offers major enhancements over other projection products including, a flicker-free picture through utilization of Texas Instruments' 2-chip Digital Light Processing(TM) (DLP(TM)) technology, use of popular computer applications in both front and rear projection mode, and no distortion or loss of brightness when viewed from most angles. DLP(TM) technology employs an advanced microchip that allows both video and computer-generated images to be reflected onto a screen with their full color spectrum intact. When used in computer mode, the projection system delivers true 800 x 600 SVGA resolution and a color palette of over 16.7 million colors, ideal for many of the popular Windows 97, Windows NT 4.01 and System 7.x presentation applications. The rear projection screen is designed to allow the audience to view the picture from the side -- or almost any other angle -- without distortion or significant loss of brightness. 350 lumens typical of brightness provide crisp clear pictures in most lighting situations. Digital Theater Series II projector unit is simple to transport, and is done by simply opening the cabinet door, pulling out the projector, and changing to the 2:1 zoom lens for front projection. The front projector weighs only 28.5 pounds. For added flexibility, the 60-inch rear projection system is on six casters and can be moved from room-to-room. It weighs only 158 pounds and is 23" deep. The projector is placed in the base of a contemporary-styled cabinet and all connections are made with Projectavision's proprietary docking station design. All the unit's functions are accessed through a remote control. Projectavision's upgraded model, Digital Theater Series II, retails for $12,000, and SOLO-2(TM), the unit's front projector is in white and sold separately for $10,000. The models will be available in July. For more information, call customer service at 888-559-7588 or visit Projectavision's web site at www.projectavision.com.
