Accounting practices vary tremendously. There is leeway
in how inventory, acquisitions, write-offs, even options
are accounted for. There have been many cases where big
accounting firms missed big problems at companies which
then melted when the street figured it out. I have no
way of knowing if LU falls into this category, but even
the biggest companies make mistakes. If it is big enough,
they might try to cover with legal but fishy accounting
techniques. I am not worried, but no investor should get
cocky and say, "not my company."
