Comparator Systems and Tracker Technologies Announce Joint Venture Agreement June 8, 1998 11:00 AM IRVINE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 8, 1998--Comparator Systems Corp. IDID announced the signing of a joint venture agreement with Tracker Technologies Inc. also of Irvine, to develop and market a new generation of products. "We believe that the integration of Comparator's and Tracker's technologies will produce entirely new 'Biometrics-Based Solutions' with worldwide hardware and software applications for automated full fingerprint identification requirements," Comparator President Tom Hanscome said. "Our objective is to provide proprietary products which utilize the most advanced biometric systems, data acquisition platforms, auto-ID applications and data-driven software," Tracker President Ronald D. Hubbard said in making the joining venture announcement. "Our common clients will benefit from new levels of portability, enhanced security, assured data integrity and employee productivity and safety," he added. Among other things, Tracker will provide primary financial and organizational responsibility for product development, market research and development, advertising and promotion, as well as management of sales and distribution. Tracker's substantial investment is expected to completely fund at least the first year of the cooperative agreement. Tracker Technologies -- a privately held company -- develops and markets portable data acquisition systems for tracking and managing environmental emissions, emergency response incident command, facility safety equipment, steam distribution components and industrial maintenance applications. Comparator Systems has developed biometrics-driven software encompassing full fingerprint identification for commercial and industrial security applications.
