Well, Dabbling A Bit

Bot 10 AA Jan 75 AAAO
10 IP Jan 50 IPAJ
10 PAIR JAN 20 (00) LGCAD
5 AA Jul 75 AAGO
2 JPM JUL 125 JPMGE
5 GM JUL 70 (put) GMSN
5 MCD Jul 65 (put) MCDSM

Now I think I'll just sit back & watch a while, and see if I'm any good at this with (my) real money.

PAIR is an exception to my rule of not playing with secondary stocks. As I'll indicate on the PAIR thread, something about this stock constantly attracts me to it. Kinda like a moth to a flame.

DJ, boese Onkel (hehe) sorry not to get back sooner. A few here think (as of yesterday) that the bottom may be around DJIA 8740. I don't believe that s**t, and always view such projections with suspicion ; ) My WAG/chaos/extreme projections: DJIA 7000, NASD 1200. Most likely the bottom will be much higher, but then again ... we must be prepared to weather almost anything Mr. Market will throw at us.

Sentiment among analysts appears to be changing a bit. Where they expected an Asian-economic/tech recovery in the last half of this year, now they are saying last quarter. Who to believe!?

As for me, I'm scratching out 1/4, 1/2 3/4 points on a fairly consistent basis, and don't like holding over night. I did last night though hold KLAC at 27 1/8 -- not sure why, I guess I tried to play it a bit too close to the closing bell.

We haven't seen the end yet, everybody expects it and wants it, but we never really get what we want when we expect it. That is the reasoning behind my projections above; things could get on a very slippery slope (ala last October) before some timid bulls have their strength in numbers together. It was possible yesterday afternoon that we might have approached the beginning of the final phase of the down stroke, but the market closed.

Sorry to paint such a bleak picture, but that is the way I feel right now. On the bullish side however, many of the stock prices have been so compressed that I think they may not have much further to fall (ie not attract too many shorts). Of course I hope that I'm terribly wrong, and we crack DJIA 10000 by the end of this month.

Wishing you and all the best,

it

Can you believe it: MCD layoffs?!

one last thought: semiconductor conference in Dallas on 17 Jun. Steve, if you're out there, would love to meet you in Dallas (others in the area are welcome as well).
